Work&Teach allows employers to become directly involved in education delivery, releasing employees to teach in local schools and colleges on a part-time basis (at least four hours a week for the academic year, totalling 150hrs). This results in learners that are more familiar with and more prepared for the world of work, picking up invaluable employability skills from those with practical experience. It is also an opportunity for employers to become more integrated with their community, forming relationships with local education providers and building networks that can take advantage of opportunities as they arise. It may also tie in with employer CSR agendas, providing a high impact scheme that supports and measures corporate contributions to the community. Work&Teach is also an excellent way for promising employees to develop themselves, building their teaching, mentoring and coaching skills. If you think that your organisation might be interested in becoming an affiliated Work&Teach Employer and you want to find out more, please send us an email summarising what your organisation does and how you think Work&Teach might help it to do it better. |
